2012 Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey

March 30, 2012

OPM will be starting its 2012 Employee Viewpoint Survey (EVS) in April and will be surveying employees through June. This year, OPM will more than double the number of employees who receive the survey – it will be sent to 1.8 million Federal employees. The survey responses are used by the Partnership for Public Service to come up with its annual “Best Places to Work” list, which agencies take very seriously, especially because it also points out the worst places to work. AFGE has used the list to back up our claims of problems in certain agencies. Many Labor-Management Forums use the survey as part of their metrics to measure employee satisfaction.

It is very important that we have the largest possible number of bargaining unit employees take the survey and tell it like it is. Attached is the letter OPM Director John Berry sent to National President Gage with more information about the survey. Please get this message out to as many people as possible and urge employees who receive the survey to take it and to speak truth.
